Vast inventory. Sadly, even with hand-held computerized inventory devices, items weren’t located accurately, their knowledge was lacking. This this seems a training issue, not a lack of wanting to be helpful…it must feel bad for them. Prices are inflated compared with artist supplies elsewhere.

My daughter and I recently visited Michaels in Tuscaloosa for a special father-daughter day. We came in to purchase supplies for a craft project we wanted to build together. After gathering everything we needed, I realized we didn't really have a place to sit down and work on it. I asked one of the cashiers if there might be somewhere in the store where my daughter and I could sit for a little while and create our project together. Instead of simply saying "no" or dismissing the question, she kindly listened and immediately offered to check with someone who could help. I would like to thank her specifically for taking the time to guide us in the right direction. While waiting, another lady near the management area spoke with us and was incredibly kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but her willingness to engage with us and help made a lasting impression. She represented exactly the type of customer service that makes people want to return. Soon after, a manager came over and explained that there was a designated area available where people could work on projects. The staff member assisting me was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly detail-oriented throughout the entire process. He carefully walked me through every step, explained the framing options thoroughly, and made sure I understood the differences in materials, layout, and presentation before making my final selections. What impressed me most was the level of respect and care shown while handling my diploma. He literally put on white gloves before touching it, which immediately communicated professionalism and attention to detail. I wanted to get my son’s graduation pictures framed and called several times beforehand to get an estimate or quote, but no one would answer the phone. I’ve had good experiences here in the past, which is why this visit was so disappointing gas prices are high nowadays. My daughter had a better experience with them and was able to get a decent qoute.

Came in frantically needing balloons for our daughter's graduation ceremony. Zipporah was a TREMENDOUS help to my scatterbrained self! She was kind, calm, helpful, knowledgeable, and hard working. I really appreciated her help today!!! Best experience Ive had at a Michael's.
